Hannah Ressler

Hannah Ressler joined the Mile High Freedom Bands’ artistic staff in 2017 and currently serves as the Assistant Artistic Director and Director of Freedom Swing.  Hannah also serves as an ex-officio member of the MHFB Board of Directors.

A graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Hannah spent her first two years of teaching as the Assistant Band Director at Lafayette High School.  During her time at Lafayette High, her teaching responsibilities included conducting the Symphonic Band and Jazz Band, assisting with the Marching Band, and teaching Music Theory.  In her first year as the director of the Symphonic Band, she conducted in the world-famous Carnegie Hall. Hannah is currently the Director of Bands at STEM Launch K-8 in Thornton, CO.

Hannah was a five-year member of the Skyliners Big Band in Lafayette, LA, and played in many ensembles during her undergraduate career including the UL Jazz Band and principal trombone for the UL Wind Ensemble. She was also selected to be a member of the school’s premier student quintet, the Echelon Brass Quintet. Her professional affiliations include the National Band Association and the National Association for Music Education.

As a recent transplant from Louisiana, Hannah traded her swamp boots for hiking boots and spends as much free time in the mountains with her westie pup, Ollie.
